Why should I go to Harwich Health Center for chiropractic care?

Here at Harwich Health, we want to make sure that you’re getting the care that you need to help improve your entire being from mind to physical. There are many misconceptions online regarding the chiropractor office. Many believe that the treatments are not effective and see little to no improvements or that it is unsafe. Dr. Paul will focus on you during the appointment and create a specialized plan that fits your needs and goals.

Chiropractic care has roots in alternative science, however Dr. Paul borrows practices from physiotherapy such as exercise therapy, postural advice, and soft tissue techniques to help treat issues that you may have.

Is Chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is a long term, gentler, and natural remedy versus Tylenol or prescribed painkillers, a short-term pain remedy when taken in large quantities, could potentially lead to liver damage and other adverse damages.

Why do I need to keep going back?

Same concept as when you go to the orthodontist for your braces to get your braces adjusted. Chiropractors want you to come back to get your spine to be reacquainted with its proper alignment/ position. After time, your spine will correct itself and there will be less nerve pinches! Less nerve pinches = less pain. Most people think going to the chiropractor’s is a one and done deal but it’s in fact, a gradual shift. We highly recommend you come back frequently at the start to continue to correct the shift and allow your spine to get used to the position. Afterwards, the visits will start to decrease.

Are Chiropractors “real” doctors?

Yes! Dr. Paul Anastasio has had over 4,000 hours of nationally accredited instruction and hands-on clinical work with supervision. He went to Trinity College for his undergraduate and received his doctorate from Palmer University.

What is that cracking or popping sound I hear when I get adjusted?

Don’t be afraid! That is not your bones cracking. That sound is actually a release of gas (mainly nitrogen and carbon dioxide) from the joint space, similar to “popping” your knuckles.
